Inserting the CD Insert
the Easy Internet disc into your CD-ROM drive. A few moments later, the License
Agreement should appear. If nothing appears after about a minute, get to your
CD-ROM drive by going to My Computer, then right-clicking on your CD-ROM
drive icon (usually D:) and then choosing AutoPlay. Click I Agree after
you see the License Agreement.
Using the Personal Configuration Wizard Personal
Configuration Wizard should appear.If it doesn't, that probably means you have done this before--Go to Step 3! Otherwise, enter surf-ici for ISP Access Code. Click Next. When asked for Dial-Up Login Name, enter your username (eg. JDoe). This was asked of you when you talked to our salesperson. ***IMPORTANT*** Leave E-mail User Name blank! Click Next. When asked for Your Name, just enter your name (eg. John Doe). Click Next.
Installing Netscape A large EZ Net Setup 4.0 window
should appear...*** IMPORTANT *** Do you know if you have a program called Netscape on your computer? If you do, Skip to Using the Internet Configuration Wizard. If you don't know, please look in your Start Menu > Programs contents for the word "Netscape." If you see anything that says Netscape, skip to the next section.
Otherwise, follow these instructions on how to install Netscape Communicator, which is the most popular web browser today, and it's free. On the left of the EZ Net Setup window, you should see a list of titles. The one to install is Netscape Communicator 4.x. Click on this, then click Install.
You will be guided through the Netscape Communicator installation. All you have to do is pretty much click all the Next buttons, etc. *** IMPORTANT *** When you get to a choice between Typical and Custom, choose Custom and click Next. Uncheck the box next to "Internet Setup" if you see that option. Then you can click Next and proceed with installation of Netscape. Your computer may need to be restarted. After you restart, take the Easy Internet disc out and put it back in after Windows reboots.
Using the Internet Configuration Wizard Click
Internet Configuration. Internet Configuration Wizard should appear.
Where it says Choose the closest city, select the Indianapolis
option. If you are in Martinsville and your phone number begins with 342 or 349,
choose Martinsville. When you are asked to Pick a Local Number,
look on the table below for the number you should use, then select the appropriate number
from the list and click Next.
