Is it bike week again the weekend of May 12-13?    I'm visiting for the third straight year and want to ride with a group, preferably Mt. bike but also road bike.  I'm a GABA member from Tucson and have ridden with the Chain Gang before.  Any ride info appreciated for this weekend in May.
Thanks.

You are in luck if you want to MT bike because there is a NORBA race in town that weekend. We also have regular road ride on Sun but this will be small because of the MT bike race going on. I have not heard much from bike week this year.

If I race it would be on Sat. and I would be up for riding on Sun. Please contact me before you come.

Hello Tim & Cindie, My name is Peter, I'm looking to do a ride across the US starting in Los Angeles and going to our home of Boston Mass. There's five of us total and we all decided to take the less popular route and head through northern Arizona. I am basically looking for some advice as to which is the best route. I assumed that the best route would be the old roads that head through Flagstaff, unfortunately after looking at some very good mapping software it seems that most of these old roads don't exist anymore i.e.: r 66. They all end at interstate. Any help and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

-Thank you, Peter Gumaskas pgumaskasno smamgerbertechnology.com

My girlfriend is looking for a quality, used, entry level road bike. The problem is that she is rather small, so we are looking for something like a 47 cm frame with 650 cm wheels. We also need something that is affordable (< $500, if possible). Can you help us?

Hello My wife and I will be in Prescott, Sedona area at the end of this
month. And I was wondering if you could suggest some road rides. Or a
book we could buy with maps of your area?
Thanx.............David & L.C. Chambers

P.S. hope to make one of your group rides

To Whom It May Concern;

I am Carl Cantrell of Coach Carl Online. I am working on getting people organized to set up a minor league pro circuit in the Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, and West Texas.) I currently live in Alamogordo, NM. We don't have much money to do this thing so our strategy is:

(1) to get as many riders committed to a League saying that, if we can get this thing organized, they will race as a pro on the league. This must be organized as a sports league.

(2) to get event promoters committed to include a full pro minor league-only event with their other events under the condition that we all commit to ride for the league and in their events. We need a full calendar of at least 30 events coordinated so that there will be no conflicts of date with plenty of races in all three areas.

(3) to then organize into teams and get sponsors for those teams.

If you or anyone you know are interested in promoting such a pro league and cycling in our area, please let me know. Our primary goal is to make it possible for more riders to be able to afford to stay in the sport longer and help aspiring riders in our area have a better chance of making it to a national level pro team. Due to a lack of funds, we will have to do this thing from the bottom up. We may have to organize this thing over the Internet which could be the first sports league to do so and could get us enough additional exposure to get the extra sponsorship. It gives us extra media potential.

God Bless, Carl Cantrell

Look what a handful of PBAC members have made happen in just ONE year…

· Prescott's first bicycle lanes - Watson Woods Bridge (connecting 69 and 89)

· Bike lanes on Whipple and Willow Creek (resurface happening now)

· Bike plan update. Being written by the City this time. Will say bicycle transportation has to be a part of all transportation budgets, plans, design, construction, etc.

· Record-breaking results on the Ridership Survey that screams, "Prescott cares about bicycle transportation!" The city has never had over 800 people respond to any of their surveys. Not even close!

· Completed a Road Hazards Survey within the City. Every inch on possible bike routes noted (by PBAC and Chain Gang volunteers) -- potholes, parallel grates, traffic signals not automatically tripped by bicycles, etc. etc. Public Works has already started addressing.

· (In the works) Proposed mandatory helmet law for bicycling youth ages 16 and under. A spin off Tucson's and Yuma's. Supported by City Police, City Attorney. Heavily laced with bicycle education, and a free helmet program for underprivileged youth.

· Bicycle racks (parking) downtown installed. More this year.
